What We Do

Looking for pediatric speech or occupational therapy services? You’re in the right spot! At Fluens, we specialize in working with children with speech and language disorders, including apraxia, speech sound problems, autism, picky eating concerns, sensory processing deficits, and language delays. We’d love to help you get more hope and peace in your family.

Here’s how we can partner together…

Speech and Language Therapy

Taking a play-based, family-centered approach, here at Fluens we encourage parents and caregivers to participate in therapy sessions. Our therapists enjoy getting on the floor to play with children, meeting them where they are, and setting up opportunities to practice their speech skills. On a weekly basis we check in with families to see how communication changes over time, in all environments, including home, daycare, and the clinic setting. Parent education and coaching is key for families to see lasting progress in their child’s communication skills.

Online Speech Therapy

Fluens_093
  • live interaction with trained Speech-Language Pathologists
  • ability to conduct evaluations and treatment online
  • evidence-based strategies utilized
  • sessions conducted from the comfort and convenience of your home

The speech therapists at Fluens enjoy working with school-age children, ages 18 months to 18 years, on a weekly basis in a 1:1 setting to address speech, language, and communication skills. We work with children who have a variety of needs, including:

  • Speech sound production and articulation - how a child pronounces sounds and puts them together in words, sentences, and conversations. This includes childhood apraxia of speech and other motor speech disorders.
  • Language skills - how a child understands and expresses ideas with others
  • Social pragmatic skills - the ability to recognize and understand verbal and non-verbal cues in social settings, as well as how to adapt their speech and behavior to form meaningful relationships with peers and adults

Many of our clients receive speech therapy services through the school district and find that may not be enough to see the progress they desire. By supplementing school-based therapy with private therapy, children can often receive the extra boost of support that they need to take their communication skills to the next level. Working toward independence is always the goal at Fluens, so we constantly assess our clients’ skills and determine if therapy is still beneficial to help them improve.

To get started with private online speech therapy services, call us to schedule an evaluation so we can figure out where your child’s skills are currently and what we need to do to help them attain even more progress.

  • Improve eye–hand coordination so they can play and succeed at school, such as catching a ball or copying words from a whiteboard
  • Master life skills like bathing, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and feeding

Testimonials

"April & Jessica are so nice and so very helpful. Both my kids seen Jessica and she is great with them. My daughter has since graduated out of speech but my son has been going and is doing so much better. He can now have a full blown conversation and you can understand him and he has gotten to the point he hears what he is doing wrong in his sounds and will fix it himself. Fluens is a great and friendly place I highly recommend."
